The orchestra will be going wowing audiences with Mozart’s Symphony No 29 and his masterpiece Don Giovanni.
Further to this we will be they will be playing Schumann’s Cello Concerto, and Don Juan by Strauss.
This is a great opportunity for classical music lovers in Mid Wales to experience something that is once in a lifetime.
The show will showcase two great musical portraits of one of the world’s most famous: Mozart’s Don Giovanni overture links the Don’s unspeakable fate together with his easy-going nature which sees him seek out the pleasures of life at every opportunity. On the other hand Strauss’s world famous tone based poem encapsulates the tempestuous passion and triumph of the Don in one of the most romantic scores ever to be composed.
The year of 2010 also sees the bi-centenary of the birth of Schumann, which is to be celebrated right here in Aberystwyth with a marvelous Cello Concerto, composed by the great man himself, and played by Paul Watkins who is one of the leading lights in Welsh classical music today.
This amazing show comes to Aberystwyth on Thursday 18th November at 19:30 with tickets ranging from £12.50 – £18.50.
