Aberystwyth University Canoe Club

Canoe club AberystwythThe Aberystwyth University Canoe Club is the place for students in Aberystwyth to get together and share their passions for canoeing.

As well as having meets throughout the university year, members are also invited to regular socials and events during term time.




People of all levels, from beginners to absolute canoeing fanatics are welcome to join (provided that you can swim 50 metres) whether it be to give it a try, improve their skills or leap off some waterfalls.


With their own equipment and stores, everything you could possibly need , from the harbour to the swimming pool is covered by your per term membership fee which comes in at just £6.


The club meets for canoe sessions twice a week as follows:

Mondays – 8pm: Aberystwyth University Swimming Pool on Penglais campus. All you need is swimming gear!

Wednesdays – 2pm: Aberystwyth University Boathouse on the Harbour. The club meets here to use the reef by the pier, and also for regular river trips.


For those with their own equipment, the membership fee also covers storage of that equipment in the Aberystwyth University Boathouse down at the harbour.


All people wishing to join are required to purchase a sporty card from Aberystwyth University, which costs £35 and covers your insurance and sports centre pool usage.
