Fishing
Of course, when you are somewhere that is surrounded by water on one side, and has a multitude of lakes and rivers behind it, you can safely assume that fishing might be quite popular in that area.
Aberystwyth and the surrounding area has plenty of opportunities for all you fishing enthusiasts out there, whether it be sea fishing or coarse. Boat trips also run during certain times of the year weather permitting.
Sea fishers can hope to catch bass, dog fish, rays and mackerel amongst others based on the time of year. Soft lipped mullet can also be found in certain areas around the edge of the coast and river mouthes.
Coarse fishers can hope to catch salmon, sewin and brown trout in the rivers along with the various species available in several well stocked ponds.
For information on permits, and restricted fishing areas please consult Aberystwyth Anglers Association
