The small village of Capel Bangor just three miles east of Aberystwyth is home to the world’s smallest commercial brewery as recognised by the Guiness Book of World Records.
The record breaking brewery is known as Bragdy Gwynant and it has just the one customer, the big pub nextdoor!
The brewery is a former outdoor toilet, and measures less that 5 feet square in size.
It can produce 9 gallons of ale per batch, and the brewing process takes around two weeks from start to finish.
The brewery lost its title for a short period when it closed for a two year period between 2002 and 2004 when the owners of the pub and brewery moved, leaving the site vacant.
However, when new owners arrived in 2004 they once again started the brewing of a local beer to be sold within the pub, and this ex privvy regained its title of world’s smallest commercial brewery once again.
